We want to share that effective this week, June 7, 2021, we will be temporarily implementing a debit card system with PEX Cards for fuel reimbursement. In addition to our normal mileage differential, we will now be issuing $10 per day for each day worked to qualifying employees. We acknowledge that our seasonal work coupled with our current working locations & the price of fuel is impacting our employees. There is no easy solution, but we recognize the need to do something. This memo explains how the PEX Card system will work and the qualifications to receive the reimbursement. Please keep in mind that as the program progresses, we may need to make some adjustments. It will take some time for the cards to arrive. Therefore, reimbursements will be retroactive to this week. Once cards are distributed, going forward Berg will load your card weekly for the qualifying days from the previous week.
To qualify for reimbursement employees, need to meet all the following:
Employees who are driving to & working on Private jobs (Not publicly funded/ Prevailing Wage)
Employees who do not drive a company vehicle to a job site
Employee must have a valid Driver’s License
We will distribute PEX Cards to employees as soon as they arrive.
