Being Part of the Community: How we choose the charities we support here at Berg

I wanted to shed some light on how we choose the charities that we support here at Berg throughout the years. We want our contributions to have a personal connection so that we can affect our team and the community that we live and work in. We evaluate the donation request as it connects to one or all of us. We look for ways to sponsor family related programs like Anchored by Grace and local sports teams that would have a team member’s family member on the team. Sometimes we will ask if anyone would like to contribute with us additionally, but know that if you cannot financially, your hard work is contributing to our ability to give back to those around us in need.
Breast Cancer: My aunt Sherri was a two-time survivor of breast cancer before she passed away in 2014. Her fight and support of the Susan G Komen foundation left an impression on me all those years ago. When we heard that Breast Cancer support Services was reeling from a lack of funding, we realized that we could help in a significant way. We raised $2,000.00 that will help those affected by breast cancer here in Berks County. I want to thank everyone for contributing in both a financial way and also the public statement of wearing pink to work on October 23.
